印象深かったのは、ニコが鬼柳に心酔しているらしくて、"He's so cool..."「（鬼柳さんて）なんてカッコいいの…」と呟くところ。
英語版鬼柳は弁が立つらしく、演説しながら自分に酔ってそうな雰囲気。

ロットンとバーバラが町を掌握したかに見えたところに、鬼柳が登場。
鬼柳（子供たちに）：So sorry I'm late, kids. The traffic here was horrible.
（遅くなって悪かったな。道路がひどく混んでてね）
※こういうジョークは英語版鬼柳ならではのノリ。
鬼柳：Maybe YOU should be the one to leave, Lawton. And maybe I should be the one to make you leave.
（恐らく出ていくべきはお前の方だな、ロットン。そしてお前を町から追い出すのがオレっていうわけだ）
鬼柳：This duel disk belongs to someone stuck in those mines. I'm here to honor his name and everyone else who came here and gave up on hope...and on themselves.
（このデュエルディスクは、この鉱山に閉じ込められているある人物のものだ。その人の名と、この町に来て希望も自分自身をも諦めてしまったその他の人々に敬意を表するために、オレはここにいる）
ニコ：He's so cool...!
（なんてカッコいいの…！）
鬼柳：To anyone who's been kicked around and made to feel small, I'm here to help you rise up and fight back!
（こづきまわされ自分に自信を無くしてしまった者たちに告げる！オレはお前たちが蜂起するための手助けにきた！）
ウエスト：Wow, he sure knows how to talk pretty and give a rousing speech!
（わぁ、鬼柳さんて雄弁だし、元気の出るスピーチしてくれるね！）
ニコ：He sure does...!
（ホントね・・・！）
バーバラ：What a joke. He sure likes the sound of his own voice, doesn't he!
（くだらないわね。あいつ、ホントに自分の声に聞き惚れているようね）
ロットン：Let 'im have his little dramatic moment. After all, a man's entitled to his last words.
（ちょっとぐらい、ドラマチックな時間を過ごさせてやろうぜ。誰にだって遺言言う権利はあるからな）
ロットン vs 遊星＆鬼柳
ガトリングオーガの攻撃で、抵抗もせず吹き飛ばされライフゼロになる鬼柳。
ニコ: No way...! He lost already?
（嘘でしょ…！もう負けちゃったの…？）
ロットン： You're done. Now lie down like the loser you are!
（てめえはもうお仕舞いさ。負け犬らしくそこに寝ていろ）
鬼柳、インフェルニティ・ゼロの効果を説明する。
ロットン：You mean you -- you can keep on dueling after I've beaten you!?
（オレに負けたのにも関わらず、デュエルを続行できるっていうことか！？）
鬼柳、薄気味の悪い笑い。
ロットン：You are one creepy little punk. Ya know that, right?
（てめえはホントに気味の悪い野郎だな。わかってるだろ？）
鬼柳：Maybe. But this creepy 'little punk' is gonna be the end of you, Lotten.
（たぶんな。だが、その「気味の悪い野郎」が貴様の息の根を止めるのさ、ロットン）
遊星：Hey, uh, you did expect me to use "Half Shield" just now, didn't you? You're not trying to lose on purpose, are you?
（おい、お前、オレがハーフ・シールドを使うことを予期していたんだよな？ワザと負けようなんてしてないよな？）
鬼柳：Of course I'm not. I've got way too much to fight for to just roll over, Yusei. The sorrow and the pain of those I sent to the mines. The promise I made to the father of those kids.
（まさか。オレには闘って守るべきものがあるんだぜ。オレが鉱山に送ってしまった人たちの悲しみと苦しみ。子供たちの父親とした約束。）
鬼柳: When I convinced myself that you betrayed me, Yusei, I let myself go off the deep end. I became self-absorbed, thinking only of me. Living and dueling only for me! I didn't care who I hurt! And then afterwards, when you defeated me, I saw what I'd become. I was so lost. I just, I gave up.
（お前がオレを裏切ったと確信した時、オレは深みに堕ちていった。自分のことしか見ず、自分のことしか考えられなかった。生きるのもデュエルも自分のためだけだった。自分が傷つける人たちのことなど気にもしなかった。そして、お前に倒されたとき、オレは自分がどんな人間に成り果てていたのかに気付いたんだ。オレは途方に暮れ、絶望してしまった）
鬼柳：But I get it now. I was looking within trying to find something worth saving, but it never occurred to me to look out to help others!
（だが、今ならわかる。オレは自分の中に守るべきものを探していたが、周りを見て他人を助けるなんてことはオレには思いも寄らないことだった）
遊星：What do you mean?
（どういうことだ？）
鬼柳：I don't care about myself. But by letting myself care about other people, I have found a new purpose. And I've got something to fight for.
（オレにとってオレ自身のことはどうでもいい。だが、他の人々を思いやることで、オレは新しい目的を見つけたんだ。闘って守るものをな）
バーバラ：Lotten, you-- you better not let those boys beat you!!
（ロットン、あいつらに負けんじゃないよ！）
ウエスト： Is it bad that I like seeing her get so upset?
（あの人（＝バーバラ）がイラついてるの見ると楽しいんだけど、これって悪いことかな？）
ニコ： Not at all.
（全然悪くないわよ！）
